Terms of service
The rules for using CTF-ORION, in plain words.
Using CTF-ORION
By creating an account or using the site you agree to these terms and to the fair play rules. If you do not agree, do not use the site. You must be able to enter into this agreement where you live; if you are young, ask a parent or teacher first.
Your account
- One person, one account. Do not share your password.
- Give a real email address we can reach. Keep your details correct.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Usernames must not impersonate other people or contain abuse.
What is allowed
- Attack the practice and event challenges, which are fictional targets we prepared for you.
- Use any tool that helps you solve a challenge, except automated flag guessing.
- Discuss practice challenges and publish write-ups for events once the event has ended. Do not post flags.
What is not allowed
- Attacking CTF-ORION itself, its servers, other players or anything outside the challenges. Found a weakness? Report it on the contact page.
- Sharing flags, solutions or hints during an event outside your team.
- Brute-forcing flags, flooding the site, or using several accounts to gain points.
- Uploading malware, illegal material or other people's private data.
- Using the site to harm, harass or deceive people.
Content you write
Lessons, paths and challenges you submit stay yours. By submitting them you give CTF-ORION permission to review, edit lightly for format, publish and show them to learners for free, under your username. You promise you wrote them or have the right to share them. We can decline or remove content, and you can ask us to remove yours at any time.
Events and hosts
Events are run by CTF-ORION or by an approved host organisation. Hosts decide their own schedules inside the platform rules. Event results can change after a fair-play review, including removal of teams from the final board.
Fair-play decisions
We can restrict or ban accounts and teams that break these terms or the fair play rules, hide them from scoreboards, and name the people involved in confirmed flag-sharing cases. You can appeal once from the contact page with new information.
Availability
CTF-ORION is free and provided as it is. We may change, pause or stop parts of it, for example for maintenance. We do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, CTF-ORION and QudsLab are not liable for indirect or consequential loss from using the site. Only use the skills you learn here on systems you own or have written permission to test.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. Important changes are listed on the changelog, and using the site after a change means you accept it. Questions: [email protected].
